Here is a handy tip
for a conversation that I am overhearing at work: You dont need a gauged tire
pump when you are inflating your bike tires. Just inflate until you can just
gently squeeze the tire. That is all. Stop making things overly complicated.

Labor of Love Swap
There’s a new swap in my ravelry group - The Swap Stop -
called Labor of Love. Once approved to join, we are responsible for posting Q&A
about ourselves for our future swap partners to get to know us. Ravelry wasn’t
working so well, so I’ll go ahead and place it on my blog. Here it is:
Are you a knitter or crocheter? Do you spin at all? K&C, no S
What is/are your favorite projects to create? Shawlettes and scarves
What is the length of your foot? Circumference of your instep? tbd
What is the length of your hand? Length of thumb? tbd
What is the circumference of your head? tbd
What is your favorite yarn type (wool, cotton, etc.)? Any yarns you don’t like to work with? I am really digging on alpaca blends lately
What is your favorite color? Least favorite? Teal/Peacock Blue is my fave, a muted dusty rose is blah...
Do you have any other hobbies, besides fiber crafts? Cooking and baking, gardening
Do you collect anything? Toy and real harmonicas and other small musical instruments
Do you like sweets? Yes yes and more yes!
What are your favorite scents? Any sensitivies? Lately I am into scents that inspire fall - pumpkin pie, fall leaves, cinnamon. No sensitivities
Do you have any pets? Yes, I have one cavapoo puppy that is a poodle-cavalier king Charles spaniel mix and does not shed. Supposedly she’s hypoallergenic, but I’m not a dermatologist.
Are you allergic to anything? just seasonal allergies
Is there anything else that you would like your pal to know? I am so happy to be a part of this group and really look forward to getting to know my partner this round.

I'm just gonna say that I am feeling very done with it. Done with all of it. Perhaps it is the closure of summer and the arrival of fall. Maybe it is some planet that is in some moon or misaligned with the sun or imploding. Maybe it is that I have the faintest suspicion that my dog is discretely peeing everywhere and I can't find it, but I smell it. Maybe it is the lack of sleep from my most uninspiring trip to Mo-Ranch ever...which is likely what has pushed me to this edge. But regardless of what the cause is... I am done with it and would like to just cry. alone. in my bed.

Arms Are Tools!
What if you had say a bunch of old jeans? or worn-out sheets? or other textile fabrics like t-shirts that were ripped into strips and wound into balls? hmmmm...
Then maybe you might use your arms as knitting needles or your hand as a crochet hook and make new stuff out of that old stuff! Awesome stuff! Wow!
Let's get crackin'!
Welcome to the Knitting Army!
And the commander is so good-looking that that alone would hold my attention...

How we envision the kingdom of heaven
This morning I spoke with Catherine C. about what an appropriate amount of money is to be spent on the flowers to prepare the cross with for our church's Sunday worship. She gave me the best advice, which she attributed to Pastor Kathy Anderson, on how to look at anything I do for worship at church:
Everything action, every word, every movement, every piece of bread is meant to represent how we envision the kingdom of heaven. It should be done neither cheaply nor overly luxuriously.
I have seared it upon my memory and will always keep it in mind while serving on the worship committee.

Minor Annoyance
Dear Mumford and Sons,
I hate your overuse of the banjo. Nothing says "I'm Lame" more than your self-pity song about how it's your fault, not our's. Stop with the banjo already!
Kisses,
Layla

Open Letter to the Universe
Dear Universe,
I received a parking ticket last night. I believe everything happens in 3s, but not this time! Oh no....I will turn around this train of negativity and make 3 things happen in a positive light. I am ready for a change, so I am closing out all open items in my life to be able to open the doors to the new. It takes work, to build up momentum, to garner the courage to uncover all the crap you try to squirrel away for dealing with later. Well I'm doing it, doing it right, doing it now. Are you ready for it? Regardless, it is happening Universe.
See you on the flip side,
Layla
P.S. - I ranted about that stupid ticket for a little bit, but I have now mailed it away out of my life. Check! Task Complete! Next!
